Plot: Wall Street baron Steven Taylor discovers that his pretty young wife, Emily, is cheating on him. But what concerns him more than her infidelity is the hope of profiting from her untimely death. Emily has millions, and Steven’s own financial empire is collapsing before his eyes. He hires her lover, David, to murder her. The plan - to stage a break-in that will look like a random murder - turns out to be far from perfect.

The 1998 thriller ‘A Perfect Murder’ is a loose adaptation of the highly acclaimed Hitchcock picture ‘Dial M For Murder.’ And, unlike the other Hitchcock remake of 1998, ‘Psycho,’ this one is actually good.
‘Perfect Murder’ delivers a lot of suspense throughout the movie. Lots of exciting and thrilling moments that will leave you on the edge of your seat.
There are also quite a few twists and turns that you won’t see coming. All of the twists and turns lead up to an incredible conclusion.

The title, ‘A Perfect Murder,’ is a quote from the 1954 Hitchcock version of this story, ‘Dial M For Murder.’
This is the first of two Hitchock remakes that Viggo Mortensen appeared in that was released in 1998, the second was ‘Psycho.’
‘A Perfect Murder’ opened in second place at the box office behind ‘The Truman Show,’ grossing $16,615,704 during its first weekend. It ended up with a total worldwide gross of $128,038,368.
