In this inspiring story, ‘Air’ reveals the unbelievable true game-changing partnership between a then-rookie Michael Jordan and Nike’s fledgling basketball division, which revolutionized the world of sports and contemporary culture with the Air Jordan brand.

This moving story follows the career-defining gamble of an unconventional team with everything on the line, the uncompromising vision of a mother who knows the worth of her son’s immense talent, and the basketball phenom who would become the greatest of all time.

‘Air’ is a sports drama that everyone should check out. This drama delivers great performances, an amazing soundtrack, and a truly inspirational story.

The film’s story will surely leave you feeling inspired. When viewing the film, you see that quite a few of the people involved in making the shoe that would change Nike forever are making quite a gamble with Jordan, who was only a rookie at the time. And, if it weren’t for Nike getting Jordan, the basketball division would be gone. The story shows that if you make a major gamble on something, it could pay off big time!

All of the performances in this drama are truly great and, at times, quite humorous. The actors really killed it and is one of the best casts in a drama in some time. ‘Air’ marks another amazingly directed film from Ben Affleck, who has been becoming one of the few actors who can also have a tremendous film-making career. Let me know on Facebook what your favorite Ben Affleck-directed film is!

It’s also good to see Chris Tucker in this film. You rarely see him in films anymore and Tucker still has the comedic wit that he’s known for. I also have to give actress Viola Davis a shout out. Her performances in all her films are truly amazing and her role as Jordan’s mother is no exception. This film shows that she knows what’s best for her son and you get to see how much she cares. After seeing her performance in this film, I think she’s a definite shoo-in towards awards season.

And, before I wrap up my thoughts on the film, I have to mention that awesome movie soundtrack. This soundtrack consists of Cyndi Lauper, George Clinton, Bruce Springsteen, ZZ Top, RED Speedwagon and so much more. Since the film was set in 1984, the soundtrack has to be good.

Overall, ‘Air’ is something you won’t want to miss. This drama can really surprise you and when I saw the trailer, I admit I did have a little doubt. Once I saw the entire film though, I was majorly surprised and so glad that I really enjoyed this film.

The cast: Matt Damon as Sonny Vaccaro; Jason Bateman as Rob Strasser; Ben Afflect as Phil Knight; Chris Messina as David Falk; Chris Tucker as Howard White; Matthew Maher as Peter Moore; Gustaf Skarsgard as Horst Dassler; Barnard Sukowa as Kathe Dassler; Marlon Wayans as George Raveling; Julius Tennon as James Jordan and Viola Davis as Deloris Jordan.

‘Air’ is written by Alex Convery (his screen-writing debut) and produced/directed by Ben Affleck (Live By Night; Argo; The Town; Gone Baby Gone).

‘Air’ is rated R for language throughout and has a running time of 111 minutes.
