Plot: On the eve of his wedding to his longtime girlfriend, Debbie, unassuming nice guy Rick is dragged out for a night of debauchery by his friends. The gang includes cocky Jay, self-appointed ringleader of the party, and depressed recently divorced Brad. Along the way, they run into Debbie's wealthy, disapproving father and her ex-boyfriend, Cole, who attempt to stop the wedding in an unexpected way.

'Bachelor Party' is one of those comedies that is the perfect example of the type of movie where you can laugh and turn off your brain for awhile.
This R-rated comedy does have some insanely hilarious moments scattered throughout. Tom Hanks is absolutely hysterical in most of his scenes and there are quite a few moments that will make you laugh out loud.
'Bachelor Party' is one of the funniest '80s comedies out there and is one of Hanks' first earlier roles. There are quite a few stand out scenes that are very memorable and you never know what will happen next. And, before seeing this, I thought 'The Hangover' was the ultimate bachelor party comedy. Honestly, I think this 1984 comedy tops it!

Kelly McGillis and Paul Reiser were considered for the lead roles early in production, but were replaced due to the lack of chemistry between them.
According to the DVD, the movie was inspired by the actual bachelor party thrown for producer Bob Israel.
Jim Carrey, Howie Madel and Tim Robbins were considered for the role of Rick.
The movie was made in the wake of the success of 'Police Academy' (another R-rated '80s comedy that is a must see)
20th Century Fox Home Entertainment produced a DVD sequel (in name only; no connection to this movie) called 'Bachelor Party 2: The Last Temptation').
