Plot: Trapped in a time loop that constantly repeats the day of his murder, former special forces agent Roy Pulver uncovers clues about a secret government project that could unlock the mystery behind his untimely death. Time loop movies have been around for several years. Some of them can be really interesting and intriguing - like ‘Groundhog Day’ and maybe the first ‘Happy Death Day’ movie. And, some not so much - just like ‘Happy Death Day 2U’.

‘Boss Level’ actually has a lot to offer! It features a lot of humorous moments and very awesome, over the top action sequences. Actor Frank Grillo, who has appeared in quite a few notable movies, such as ‘The Purge: Anarchy,’ ‘The Purge: Election Year,’ ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier,’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame, among many others, does a great job being an action star.

This movie is exclusively available on Hulu and is one of those straight to streaming releases that is really, really worth a look. Even some of the action reminds me of the ‘John Wick’ movies. So, make sure to give this Hulu movie a look. Lots of great action, awesome fun, great music and some twisted humor!!

Here are a few interesting tidbits about ‘Boss Level’:

• Joe Carnahan had been trying to make this movie for years. It was originally called ‘Continue’ and was written by Chris Borey and Eddie Borey in 2010. Carnahan rewrote the script and announced in 2012 that he would direct it for 20th Century Fox. He later filmed screen tests with Frank Grillo. Fox ultimately decided not to move forward with it, reportedly disagreeing with Carnahan’s choice to cast Grillo as the star.

• In April 2018, Entertainment Studios acquired US distribution rights; Was scheduled for August 16, 2019, but missed the release date.

• In June 2020, Entertainment Studios dropped the film and in that November, the rights were acquired in an eight figure deal by Hulu.
