In this United Artists Releasing/MGM presentation, ‘Dog’ is a buddy comedy-drama that follows the misadventures of two former Army Rangers paired against their will on the road trip of a lifetime.

Army Ranger Briggs and Lulu buckle into a 1984 Ford Bronco and race down the Pacific Coast in hopes of making it to a fellow soldier’s funeral on time.

Along the way, they’ll drive each other completely crazy, break a small handful of laws, narrowly evade death, and learn to let down their guards in order to have a fighting chance of finding happiness.

‘Dog’ is a feature film that has a fantastic story and is really moving. This film delivers a lot of entertaining moments that feature the Jackson Briggs character and Lulu trying to get along during their long road trip together. Throughout the feature, there are quite a few fun moments that are truly enjoyable and, at times, humorous. One of the stand-out scenes involves Briggs using Lulu to get a free hotel room. You’ll have to see it for yourself and see why it is one of the best bits of the movie.

In between all the fun and humorous moments, there are some that are very dramatic and emotional. The movie touches upon the topic of PTSD, which Briggs and Lulu have. ‘Dog’ will really leave you feeling moved with its heart-felt scenes.

So, make sure to come on down to the Dietrich and check out ‘Dog.’ Filled with funny moments, lots of heart and so much more, this movie is highly recommended.

The cast: Channing Tatum (the upcoming Lost City) as Jackson Briggs; Q’orianka Kilcher (Dora and the Lost City of Gold) as Niki; Kevin Nash as Gus; Aqueela Zoll (Fighting With My Family) as Callon; Jane Adams (HBOs Hacks) as Tamara; Emmy Raver-Lampman (Blacklight) as Bella; Cayden Boyd as Corporal Levitz; Eric Urbiztondo as Riley Rodriguez and Ethan Suplee (The Hunt; Netflix’s The Ranch) as Noah, along with the three dogs (Belgian Malinois) who played the scene-stealing Lulu.

‘Dog’ is written by Reid Carolin (the Magic Mike movies) and directed by Carolin and Channing Tatum.

On Nov. 5, 2019, it was announced that Channing Tatum and Reid Carolin would be making their directorial debuts with ‘Dog.’ Carolin has produced quite a few movies with Channing Tatum, such as the two ‘Magic Mike’ movies, ‘Logan Lucky,’ ‘22 Jump Street’ and ‘White House Down.’ MGM/United Artists acquired the movie in March 2020. ‘Dog’ has received decent reviews from critics and has earned roughly $40 million since its opening on President’s Day weekend.

‘Dog’ is rated PG-13 for language, thematic elements, drug content and some suggestive material and has a running time of 101 minutes.
