'Encanto' a fun-filled magical adventure.

In this visually incredible Disney animated feature, ‘Encanto’ focuses on the Madrigals, who are an extraordinary family who live hidden in the mountains of Columbia in a charmed place called the Encanto. The magic of the Encanto has blessed every child in the family with a unique gift - every child except Mirabel.

However, she soon becomes the Madrigal's last hope when she discovers that the magic surrounding the Encanto is now in danger.

‘Encanto’ is an incredible family feature filled with a lot of heart and amazing music. The latest movie from Disney delivers a lot of great fun moments and outstanding visuals. ‘Encanto’ also features some very memorable characters that you learn more about during the course of the movie. While this enchanted family movie can be really funny at times, there are definitely a few moments that can be rather emotional and touching. The magical elements are truly interesting and the songs that are in the movie are simply catchy.

The movie, like most animated Disney releases, also has a real nice message about a family and community coming together during a time of need. The message is really heartfelt and important.

So, come on down to the Dietrich and don’t miss this incredible magical feature. Filled with amazing visuals, great original songs and lots of adventure-filled fun, Disney’s ‘Encanto’ really delivers.

‘Encanto’ is written by Charise Castro Smith and Jared Bush (Zootopia; Moana) and also directed by Bush (Zootopia), Smith and ‘Zootopia’ director Byron Howard.

An animated Disney movie centered around a Latino family has been in development since 2016. Songwriter and producer Lin-Manuel Miranda has always been keen on getting the project going.

‘Encanto’ is set in Columbia and contains several nods and themes of “magical realism” (a literary genre using magical elements in ordinary settings) typical of the works by Colombian writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez. The word encanto comes from Spanish and means charm, spell or enchantment. During its opening holiday weekend, the animated movie earned an estimated $40 million and very positive reviews.

‘Encanto’ is rated PG for some thematic elements and mild peril and has a running time of 99 minutes.
