Fans of the 1993 movie 'Hocus Pocus' has been patiently (or perhaps impatiently) waiting on a sequel for many years. Over the years, there have been some rumors of a potential sequel.

And, now, you can FINALLY see the sequel many Disney fans have been wanting - and you can stream it at home on Disney Plus!!
The eagerly awaited 'Hocus Pocus 2' delivers some very humorous moments and, once again, great performances from the three lead actresses (Bette Midler; Sarah Jessica Parker; Kathy Najimy).
The back story of the witches is really interesting and fun. There is a scene where you see the Sanderson sisters looking for potions at a Walgreens that is extremely hilarious. All three of the actresses eased back into their roles very easily and you could tell they enjoyed themselves.
The 'Hocus Pocus' sequel does give a nice nostalgic vibe and also has a few slight nods to the 1993 original. And, just like the original, the Billy character is the stand out character and Mary (Najimy's character) has a few hysterical one-liners as well! There is also a bit of emotion towards the end and, after the end credits, there is a slight tease of a potential third movie. And, if there is a third movie, hopefully they can get the legacy characters back from the first movie (mainly the kids)
'Hocus Pocus 2' can be streamed right on Disney Plus!
Here are a few interesting tidbits for the long-awaited sequel!!!:
Initial filming took place in the cities of Providence, Lincoln and Newport, Rhode Island, between October 18, 2021 and January 26, 2022. After two test screenings showed that the ending of the film was the weakest part, re-shoots took place in early June 2022.
Thora Birch wanted to return to reprise her role as Dani Denison, but had to decline due to scheduling conflicts.
On Michael Rosenbaum's "Inside of You" podcast, Doug Jones mentions the wig hr wears as Billy Butcherson was the same one he wore in the first movie.
Was originally announced as a made for TV remake of the original film to be aired on Freeform without the involvement of the original cast.
After many years of sequel rumors, in October 2019, a sequel was announced to be in development as a Disney Plus Original.
In March 2020, Adam Shankman signed on to direct the sequel concurrently to his work on the 'Enchanted' sequel 'Disenchanted.' In April 2021, Fletcher replaced Shankman as the director due to this 'Disenchanted' directorial duties, although he will remain as an executive producer for the movie.
