In the Warner Brothers holiday feature ‘Jack Frost,’ as a touring musician clinging to dreams of stardom, aging rocker Jack Frost never had much time for his wife, Gabby, and young son, Charlie.

A year after Jack’s tragic death in a car accident on Christmas Day, Charlie plays a mournful tune on his father’s harmonica. Much to his surprise, the elder Frost is magically brought back to life as a snowman on the family lawn.

Given a second chance, Charlie and Jack struggle to make up for lost time.

‘Jack Frost’ is filled with some very humorous moments and some very sad ones as well. The first part of the movie shows the aging rocker trying to chase the dream while struggling to spend time with his family. It eventually gets really emotional when Jack decides to bail on his Christmas gig and passes away during a terrible accident. Once Jack is brought back as a snowman, that’s where the fun and laughs begin. The scenes that show Jack and Charlie finally having quality time together is really great to see and also very funny. Michael Keaton does a great job as Jack and the actor is really great at blending comedy and emotion. When all of the fun good times come to an end, it can be really sad, yet heart-warming at the same time.

So, during the 12 Movies of Christmas festival, don’t miss this holiday family favorite.

Some of the cast includes: Michael Keaton (Hulu’s Dopesick; The Protege) as Jack Frost; Kelly Preston (Gotti) as Gabby Frost; Joseph Cross (Netflix’s Mank) as Charlie Frost; Mark Addy (Downton Abbey: The Movie) as Mac; Andrew Lawrence as Tuck Gronic; Eli Marienthal (Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen) as Spencer; Taylor Handley (Netflix’s Bird Box) as Rory Buck and Henry Rollins as Sid Gronic.

‘Jack Frost’ is written by Mark Steven Johnson (Ghost Rider; Daredevil), Steve Bloom (Netflix’s The Perfect Date), Jonathan Roberts (James and the Giant Peach; The Lion King) and Jeff Cesario and directed by Troy Miller.

At one point, George Clooney was originally attached to star in the family movie, but left to star in ‘Batman & Robin.’ Michael Keaton also co-wrote two of the songs that are on the soundtrack.

Quite a few actors were considered for the Jack Frost role, such as Mel Gibson, Kurt Russell, Dennis Quaid, Kevin Costner and Billy Bob Thornton. The costume for Jack Frost’s snowman form was created by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.

‘Jack Frost’ is rated PG for mild language and has a running time of 101 minutes.
