'Jurassic World' A Thrilling Entry to the Series (An Exclusive Series Special)

The "Jurassic Park" film franchise has been dormant for about fourteen years. For years, a new "Jurassic Park" feature has been in some sort of development stage. Now, after years of anticipation, the next installment of the still popular film franchise finally arrives in theaters and it is good to see the series back in a big way.

In the Universal Pictures presentation of "Jurassic World," more than ten years ago, John Hammond's dream of a dinosaur theme park was finally turned into a reality. But, the last year or two, the number of visitors have been dwindling. Now, scientists at InGen have thought of something that could bring back the visitors - creating their own hybrid dinosaur.

But, once their new dinosaur escapes captivity, a Velociraptor trainer must find the hybrid dinosaur before it's too late.

"Jurassic World" is an exciting and exhilarating installment of the franchise. Sure, it isn't as amazing as the first "Jurassic Park" feature. But, let me tell you, it is pretty close. There are many moments throughout the film that are quite thrilling and fans of the franchise are sure not to be disappointed.

A lot of the audience and die-hard "Jurassic Park" fans will really enjoy the dinosaur scenes and some of the amazing visuals that the film offers. But, if you do bring your kids to see it, there may a slim chance they could be a little scared at a couple parts. So, if you were sort of disappointed with the two previous "Jurassic" sequels, rest assured, this entry will definitely make you love the series all over again.

Also, there are a few callbacks to the original "Jurassic Park." So, see if you can find them all!

Actor Chris Pratt portrays trainer Owen Grady. Besides starring in the recently cancelled NBC series "Parks and Recreation," the busy comedic actor has also appeared in "Guardians of the Galaxy," "Delivery Man" and provided voice-work for the mega family hit "The Lego Movie."

Other cast members include: Bryce Dallas Howard (The Help; 50/50) as Claire, Vincent D'Onofrio (The Judge; Run All Night) as Hoskins, Ty Simpkins (Insidious: Chapter 2) as Gray, Irrfan Khan (The Lunchbox) as Simon Masrani, Nick Robinson (The Kings of Summer) as Zach, Jake Johnson (Let's Be Cops) as Lowery, Omar Sy (X-Men: Days of Future Past) as Barry and BD Wong (Focus) as Dr. Henry Wu.

"Jurassic World" is co-written and produced by Colin Trevorrow, who also directed the indie flick "Safety Not Guaranteed."

A fourth "Jurassic Park" film has been in some stage of development since 2003 or 2004. But, after numerous re-writes and story changes, the sequel kept on being postponed. Over the years, there has been rumors of the main cast returning. At one point, original stars Jeff Goldblum and Sam Neill were slated to return for a potential fourth installment. But, due to the major setbacks of the production, the actors dropped out. With the amazing box office returns that the film is getting, do not be surprised if there will be another visit to "Jurassic Park" soon.

"Jurassic World" is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of science fiction violence and peril and has a running time of 124 minutes.
