‘Knock’ A Thought-Provoking, Intriguing Thriller

In the latest chiller from M. Night Shyamalan, while vacationing at a remote cabin, a young girl and her parents are taken hostage by four armed strangers who demand that the family make an unthinkable choice to avert the apocalypse.

With very limited access to the outside world, the family must decide what they believe before all is lost.

‘Knock at the Cabin’ is definitely one of director M. Night Shyamalan’s better films for sure. His latest film delivers a good amount of suspense, tension and emotion.

The concept of the film is really intriguing and the thrills and the mystery start at the very beginning. Just like a couple of the lead characters in the film, you also begin to wonder if these four strangers trying to stop the apocalypse are legit or not.

The film can leave you on the edge of your seat, but mainly for the suspense of wondering what will happen next. There are a few moments that can be on the scary side. But, ‘Knock at the Cabin’ can also be quite thought-provoking as well. The tension really begins to grow when the parents are trying to figure out whether the apocalypse is actually coming or not, especially when the strangers keep showing them some kind of proof that the event is on its way.

Also, Dave Bautista does an awesome job as Leonard, the calm yet kind of sinister leader of this little group of strangers. Bautista is one of those wrestler-turned-actors who shows that he can really act and doesn’t play the same role again and again. Plus, Rupert Grint (a.k.a Ron Wealey) also portrays one of the strangers. I could be wrong but this might be his biggest movie since the main ‘Harry Potter’ film franchise ended in 2011.

Overall, ‘Knock at the Cabin’ will really leave you entertained and interested right until the very end. The premise is really interesting and the suspense will leave you trying to guess how all of the film’s events will conclude.

‘Knock at the Cabin’ is written by M. Night Shyamalan (Old), Steve Desmond and Michael Sherman, based on a book by Paul Tremblay, and also directed by Shyamalan.

The film is based on the book ‘The Cabin at the End of the World’ by Paul G. Tremblay. This is also the first film adaptation of one of the author’s works. This film also marks the second film Shyamalan directed that is R-rated - the first being ‘The Happening.’

‘Knock at the Cabin’ is rated R for violence and language and has a running time of 100 minutes.
