'No Way Home' ambitious Spiderman adventure

Over the past several years, Sony has introduced us to the infamous web-slinger, known as Spider-Man. The character was first brought to the screen in a trilogy of films in 2002, 2004 and 2007. Around five years later, Sony decided to reboot the web-slinger again, which the soft reboot didn’t stick as well as the studio was hoping.

After the mixed results of the soft reboot, Marvel Studios made a deal and officially came onboard to bring the web-slinger to Marvel with its ‘Civil War’ feature. From then on, the character has appeared in his own well-received films (Homecoming; Far From Home) and two of the biggest ‘Avengers’ sequels ever (Infinity War; Endgame). Now, Peter Parker’s most ambitious and tense adventure is about to begin and is something that will really leave you surprised.

In the highly anticipated ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home,’ for the first time in the cinematic history of the character, our friendly neighborhood hero’s identity is revealed, bringing his superhero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life and putting those he cares about most at risk.

When he enlists Doctor Strange’s help to restore his secret, the spell tears a hole in its world, releasing the most powerful villains who’ve ever fought a Spider-Man in any universe.

Now, Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will not only forever alter his own future but the future of the Multiverse as well.

One of the many things you will enjoy in ‘No Way Home’ is the amount of surprises that are in store for you. Surely, there are a couple surprises that you kind of saw coming. Yet, are still really amazed to see on the big screen. Throughout the MCU feature, the action starts right at the beginning and never lets up.

Watching the latest ‘Spider-Man’ reminds me of when I first checked out ‘Avengers: Endgame.’ Lots of the surprises were left out of the marketing and trailers and gave the audiences reactions to the main movie event that were astounding. The filmmakers practically did the same thing with ‘No Way Home.’ Quite a few moments really made some of the audience members cheer, including those that you kind of knew would eventually come. The action scenes are outstanding and the whole movie can also be quite emotional.

It was also very cool to see some of the other previous ‘Spider-Man’ villains return — along with a few other characters. All of the actors did an amazing job, along with the actors who reprises their villain roles. Willem Dafoe, of course, nails it once again as the Green Goblin. In fact, I think his performance as the Green Goblin this time around is better than his 2002 performance.

So, during the holiday season, definitely take some time and don’t miss ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home.’ This MCU feature delivers lots of ambitious moments, great laughs, tons of emotion and several callbacks to previous ‘Spider-Man’ movies. And, like usual, make sure to stick around during the end credits scenes for a couple more surprises.

‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ is written by Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna (Far From Home; Ant-Man and the Wasp) and directed by Jon Watts (Homecoming; Far From Home).

The latest adventure of the web-slinging superhero earned amazingly positive reviews and grossed an estimated $253 million during its record breaking opening weekend.

‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ is rated PG-13 for sequences of action/violence, some language and brief suggestive comments and has a running time of 148 minutes.
