Plot: Grace couldn’t be happier after she marries the man of her dreams at his family’s estate. There’s just one catch - she must now hide from midnight until dawn while her in-laws hunt her down with guns, crossbows and other weapons. The 2019 movie ‘Ready or Not’ is one of those rare gems in the horror genre that is a major surprise and is very entertaining. This flick has a lot of decent little scares and lots and lots of dark humor. In fact, this is one of those movies that does a great job blending the horror genre with comedy.

‘Ready or Not’ can be frightening and suspenseful at times. And some of the dark humor will really make you chuckle a few times. One thing that I really enjoyed about this movie is that it’s really original and quite unpredictable.

The movie can be really twisted and you can really get hooked watching this! The ending is really unexpected and definitely a great way to end a fun, twisted horror-comedy.

‘Ready or Not’ is currently available to rent through Apple TV, Amazon Prime and VuduFandango for $3.99. Or you can also rent it through either the RedBox app or from the kiosk if available.

Here are a few interesting tidbits about ‘Ready or Not’:

• 17 different versions of Grace’s wedding dress were created by costume designer Avery Plewes to show the progress of Grace’s night and how her clothes correspond to her attitude.

• The song ‘Love Me Tender’ by Stereo Jane was covered and remade especially for the movie.

• Principal photography began on October 15, 2018, and concluded on November 19, 2018. The 35 day shoot took place at locations around the Toronto area, including Case Loma, Sunnybrook Park and the Claireville Conservation Area, as well as the Parkwood Estate in Oshawa, Ontario.

• The movie had its world premiere at the Fantasia International Film Festival on July 27, 2019 and was theatrically released in the US on August 21, 2019.

• ‘Ready or Not’ grossed $28.7 million in the US and Canada, and $28.9 million in other territories, for a worldwide total of $57.6 million, against a production budget of only $6 million.
