‘Ron’s Gone Wrong’ a touching, humorous flick

In the 20th Century Studios presentation of ‘Ron’s Gone Wrong,’ the film tells the story of Barney, a socially awkward middle schooler and Ron, his new talking, walking, digitally-connected device, which is supposed to be his “Best Friend out of the Box.”

Ron’s hilarious malfunctions set against the backdrop of the social media age, launch them into an action-packed journey in which boy and robot come to terms with the wonderful messiness of true friendships.

The animated flick was first announced to be in development in October 2017. The animation and voice acting had been done remotely during the pandemic.

The family film has earned positive reviews and grossed an estimated $7.5 million during its opening weekend.
