Plot: When New Orleans paramedics and longtime best friends Steve and Dennis are called to a series of bizarre and gruesome accidents, they chalk it up to a mysterious new drug found at the scene. ‘Synchronic’ is a decent sci-fi thriller that can be really interesting and even a little weird. The concept of the movie is really awesome and most of the movie is truly tense.

The intensity kicks into high gear when its found out that the drug that everyone’s been taking actually sends you back in time.

‘Synchronic’ gets really intriguing once one of the characters starts to experiment the drug in hopes to find a missing girl. There is one moment that’s sad when the one character brings his dog along during an experiment and couldn’t bring the dog back.

Here are a couple interesting tidbits about ‘Synchronic’:

• Steve’s dog Hawking, named after a famous physicist, appears to be the same breed of dog as Doc Brown’s dog Einstein in ‘Back to the Future’ also named after a famous physicist. Both dogs are used to test time travel methods in their respective movies.

• The name of Steve’s dog, Hawking, is a reference to the late English theoretical physicist Steven Hawking given the fact that there is some info about quantum physics and time travel in the movie.

• The film had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 19, 2019.
