While I was putting together my list of movies to check out for this year's Halloween marathon for my Series, I initially didn't have any intention on taking a look at the 2018 horror indie 'Terrifier' - until I have seen all the online buzz on Twitter and other social media about both this movie and its recently released sequel.
And, this horror indie definitely isn't for everyone. 'Terrifier' is a really weird and creepy little movie that also introduces us to the next modern horror icon - Art the Clown. I mean, this evil, twisted clown could put Pennywise to shame.
The vibe and atmosphere of the movie really reminds me of the old school 1980s horror movies. It's also very violent and the kill scenes are extremely gory for the most part. I do give a shout out to the filmmakers for using practical effects and not CGI (which with the low budget I'm sure they couldn't afford).
This horror movie is based on a short called 'All Hollows Eve,' which is also available on Tubi. Now, if you're really squeamish with gore, then this may not be the movie for you. 'Terrifier 2' is now finishing up in theaters soon and I may check it out once it's available on streaming!

Well, I hope you enjoyed this year's Exclusive Series Halloween marathon. There were a couple things I wanted to either check out or write about, such as the Universal classic monsters. But, I had a few things come up with my schedule and had to move things around.

David Howard Thornton, who portrays Art the Clown, has previous mime experience, which he utilizes in his performance.
Its the second feature film appearance of the Ant the Clown character, after Leone's 2013 anthology movie 'All Hollows Eve.'
In 2015, Leone launched a campaign on the crowd-funding website Indiegago to finance 'Terrifier.'
'Terrifier' premiered at the Telluride Horror Show Film Festival in 2016. It was later screened at the Horror Channel Fright Fest on October 28, 2017, and was subsequently picked up by Dread Central Presents for a limited 2018 release.
