Plot: Fresh from England on a foreign exchange program, teacher Miss Anna arrives in a small Texas town where the local students don’t have much to be happy about. Determined to boost their spirits, Anna forms a soccer team, hoping the sport will help them out of their funk. But, since they’ve never played before, she has her work cut out for her. She hopes that, with her assistant coach, Sheriff Tom, she might have a chance to turn their lives around.

‘The Big Green’ is a fun, little family flick that is entertaining. This 1995 Disney soccer movie is just like ‘The Mighty Ducks’ and ‘Bad News Bears’ - where a bunch of misfit kids learn a new sport.
The family comedy has quite a few moments that can give the whole family a chuckle. Just like most of the “misfit sports” movies, the group of kids never do well in the beginning. And, over time, they learn to grow as a team.
Steve Guttenberg, known for ‘Police Academy,’ ‘Cocoon’ and ‘Three Men and a Baby,’ has a few hilarious moments as the bored Sheriff Tom. While the redhead kid from ‘The Sandlot’ can also be funny in this movie.
Sure, ‘The Big Green’ is pretty cliched and predictable, It’s still good family entertainment. ‘Big Green’ is a great feel-good movie that can be really uplifting.
