If you thought the first 'Christmas Chronicles' movie was entertaining, then you will really love the sequel!! It's extremely funny and is a great little feel-good holiday film for everyone ... just like the first movie.
Again, Kurt Russell is just perfect as jolly old Saint Nick. He's funny, jolly and you can tell that he had a blast playing the character. And casting Goldie Hawn (who has a quick cameo at the end) as Mrs. Claus is just perfect since Hawn and Russell have been together for many years. Their on-screen chemistry is spot on in this movie and looks like they enjoyed every minute of it.
The ending of this one where the daughter meets someone she misses is simply heart-warming and don't want to spoil it here! So, come on Netflix ... bring on a third one!!!!
Here are a couple little tidbits for 'The Christmas Chronicles 2':
Airport worker Grace is played by Darlene Love, who famously sings "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)," which is the opening song of 'Gremlins,' also written by Chris Columbus.
The Elves in these movies speak "Elvish." The Elvish language heard in the movies was created by language consultant David J. Peterson.
Though not married, Russell and Hawn (Santa and Mrs. Claus) have been together since 1983.
The film was streamed on Netflix on November 25, 2020. It also played in three cities (at about 32 Cinemark theaters) the week prior to its digital release, the first time Netflix allowed one of its films to be played in a chain theater.
