George A. Romero’s original 1973 movie ‘The Crazies’ is an absolute horror classic and will always be known to give you a good scare. Now, granted the 2010 remake isn’t as memorable as Romero’s version. Yet, it’s still very entertaining and thrilling.

This is one of those rare horror remakes that does not disappoint. There are numerous moments in the 2010 remake that are very suspenseful and well-acted.

‘The Crazies’ is really grounded and, with how intense this movie can be, it gets very realistic and almost seems like it could actually happen. It’s also very unpredictable and a definite must watch.

The 2010 remake is available on Amazon Prime and to rent online via YouTube, Google Play, Apple TV and VuduFandango.

And, if you want to check out the 1973 original, it's available to stream free on VuduFandango and the Tubi app.

Here are a couple tidbits about the 2010 remake:

  • Much of the move was shot in Central Georgia and Lenox, Iowa.

  • The movie opened at No. 3 behind ‘Cop Out’ and ‘Shutter Island’ with $16 million. By May 2010, the film was grossed an estimated $50 million worldwide.
