'The Good House' is an enjoyable film that is filled with some humorous moments and can also be very emotional at times as well.
Sigourney Weaver does an outstanding job as Hildy Good, who is a workaholic realtor trying to get every listing available. In between working and dealing with other things in her life, her character also enjoys a glass of wine ... well usually more than a glass.
There are quite a few moments that show her personal struggles with alcohol and how it affects not only her but some people in her life. Those moments can be moving and slightly emotional, especially if you know of someone who is struggling with alcoholism.
Sigourney Weaver and Kevin Kline work really well together in their scenes and their on-screen chemistry is amazing. Kline can also be quite funny during a few of his scenes. There are also some moments where he tries to talk with Hildy about her alcohol issues and they both do an amazing job in those moments as well. This is definitely a great little drama with romance and some comedy sprinkled throughout that will appease everyone who sees this!
There are still a couple chances to check this out during the Winter Film Festival. 'The Good House' is showing tomorrow March 4 at noon and Thursday March 9 at 5 pm!
Here are a few little tidbits about 'The Good House':
