At first glance of the horror movie’s trailer, ‘The Owners’ showed promise and potential. The first half of the 2020 release did offer a good amount of suspense and a few chills.
The second half of the horror flick does begin to slow the pace down and starts to really fall flat. It just gets really weird and some of the things, including the ending, are rather dull and does not make a whole lot of sense.
Overall, ‘The Owners’ DID have potential and could have been a great scary thriller. Yes, it does have a few scares here and there. But, it gets really, really predictable and the plot of a small group of young robbers who plan on robbing an old person (or, in this case, people) really sounds like the movie ‘Don’t Breathe.’
So, if you do want to check this horror flick out, ‘The Owners’ can be found on the Hulu streaming service.

Based on the French graphic novel ‘Une Nuit De Pleine Lune’ by Belgian artist Herman and writer Yves H.
Principal photography began in May 2019. Filming took place in an isolated Victorian mansion in Kent, near London.
In April 2020, RLJE Films acquired distribution rights to the film and had a very limited theatrical run in theaters that September.
