2008s ‘The Strangers’ is a thrilling, suspenseful flick that keeps the chills going right until the end. A decade later, the long belated sequel finally came out.

Now, ‘The Strangers: Prey at Night’ isn’t that bad of a sequel. There are a few decent scares scattered throughout. But, it’s definitely not nearly as thrilling as the 2008 movie.

This time around, the scares and chills seem kinda cheap and not nearly as suspenseful. There are a few twisted parts that feature the “Strangers.” Yet, they’re not as scary as last time and the killers were really predictable.

It kind of seems like the filmmakers only put a sequel together because fans have been wanting a follow up for years. So, if you haven’t seen it and are kind of curious to see the ‘Strangers’ follow-up, ‘Prey at Night’ is available to stream on Netflix.

Here are a couple interesting tidbits about ‘The Strangers: Prey at Night’:

• Before the script was re-written, Kristen McKay (Liv Tyler) from the first movie was going to return for only the opening scene, where she would be killed.

• This movie was announced back in 2009.

• When Kinsey is being chased at the end, she jumps at the back of a car. This scene is an obvious tribute to the ending of the original ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre.’

• In the US and Canada, ‘The Strangers: Prey at Night’ was released alongside ‘The Hurricane Heist,’ ‘Gringo’ and ‘A Wrinkle in Time,’ and was projected to gross around $7 million from 2,464 theaters in its opening weekend.

• It made $4 million on its first day and went on to debut to $10.4 million, finishing third at the box office behind ‘Black Panther’ and ‘A Wrinkle in Time.’
