Plot: Becca and younger brother Tyler say goodbye to their mother as they board a train and head deep into Philadelphia farm country to meet their maternal grandparents for the first time. Welcomed by Nana and Pop Pop, all seems well until the siblings start to notice increasingly strange behavior from the seemingly charming couple. Once the children discover a shocking secret, they begin to wonder if they'll ever make it home.

The Visit is definitely one of M. Night Shyamalan's films that really should be checked out. Sure, his filmography had quite a few ups and downs over the years. But, this is definitely one of his better ones!

At first, the grandparent characters seem like the typical loving grandparents who are excite to see their grand kids for the first time. After awhile, you see that the older, loving couple are really, really odd. Just like the kids, you can begin to shrug it off. But, some of the things that they do can be kinda uncomfortable and really weird.

Throughout the movie, the things with the grandparents get weirder and stranger, especially once it gets closer to the twist of the movie. This simple concept is really great and simple. The movie also has a creepy vibe and the feel of the movie makes it feel like a classic old school psychological horror flick. The twist is really cool and is something that you might not see coming. *** After a second viewing you can pick up a couple hints of the twist***.

• M. Night Shyamalan's lowest budgeted studio feature.

• Shyamalan used his fee for his sci-fi movie After Earth to self-produce the movie. In his own words, this was "an attempt to regain artistic control" after his recent movies have been denied final cut, and were taken away from him in post-production.

• Shyamalan's first movie since The Village to NOT receive a Razzie nomination for Worst Picture, Worst Director or Worst Screenplay.

• The Visit grossed $65.2 million domestic and $33.2 million in other territories for a worldwide total of $98.5 million, against a $5 million budget.
