Plot: Straight-laced Marcus and Emily are befriended by wild, thrill-seeking partiers Ron and Kyla at a resort in Mexico. Living in the moment, the visually level-headed couple lets loose to enjoy a week of inhibited fun and debauchery with their new “vacation friends.” Months after their walk on the wild side, Marcus and Emily are horrified when Ron and Kyla show up uninvited at their wedding, creating chaos and proving that what happens on vacation, doesn’t necessarily stay on vacation.

The 2021 Hulu Original comedy ‘Vacation Friends’ is, without a doubt, one of the funniest movies I have ever seen recently!

This R-rated comedy delivers a lot of great laughs and does not drag on. Both of the comedy movie’s leads, John Cena and Lil Rel Howery, are really hysterical and really work well together.

Cena is usually extremely hilarious in most of his roles lately, such as ‘Blockers,’ ‘The Suicide Squad,’ and even the HBO Max series ‘Peacemaker.’

‘Vacation Friends’ has several moments that will make you burst out with laughter and is worth multiple viewings. Also, there is a sequel in development, which I can’t wait to see. I just hope that the sequel won’t ruin the first movie since comedy sequels are heavily mixed.

Here are a couple interesting tidbits for Hulu’s ‘Vacation Friends’:

• The movie was announced for the first time in 2005 with Nicolas Cage and Will Smith in the lead roles; when it was delayed several times, both stars dropped out.

• In March 2014, it was announced that former couple Chris Pratt and Anna Faris were set to star. In November 2015, it was reported Ice Cube had signed on to replace Pratt, with Faris no longer attached.

• The movie was released on Hulu on August 27, 2021 in the US. In September 2021, it was reported that a sequel titled ‘Honeymoon Friends’ was in development, with the cast set to return.
