Rated PG-13 for crude and sexual content, a scene of exaggerate violence and brief strong language (101 minutes)

Now being a fan of the 2001 comedy Zoolander, I thought that comedy sure was really dumb at times, but it still can be really humorous and fun. When there's a sequel to a comedy, they are generally not as funny as the previous movie. And Zoolander 2 is no exception.

Granted I did get a couple small chuckles from the comedy sequel. But, Zoolander 2 just wasn't as humorous or as fun as the first movie. In my take of the 2001 comedy, I stated that the movie is "so dumb it's funny." This movie - it's so dumb that it's just dumb.

Will Ferrell does have a couple funny bits towards the end. Other than that, between the two movies, the first Zoolander is WAY better than this sequel. And, judging by the Rotten Tomatoes scores of these movies, it's obvious other people say the same thing! Let's hope there won't be a Zoolander 3...

Here are a couple fun tidbits for the 2016 comedy sequel!

  • The announcement for the movie came from a fashion show when Stiller and Wilson walked down the runway, in character, as Derek and Hansel.

  • Milla Jovovich has only 20 seconds of screen time.

  • Jerry Stiller's last film appearance before his death in May 2020.

  • Zoolander 2 grossed $28.8 million domestically and $27.9 million in other territories, for a worldwide total of $56.7 million against a budget of $50 million.
