A Revisit of the MCU - “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Endgame”

With “Thunderbolts” wrapping up Phase Five of the MCU, I wanted to do a revisit of Phases Four and Five of the MCU since the critic and fan reactions of these phases have been heavily mixed. But, before I get into Phases Four and Five (movies only), I wanted to start things off with “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame.”
In 2018's “Avengers: Infinity War,” Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet - the evil Thanos. On a mission to collect all six Infinity Stones, Thanos plans to use the artifacts to inflict his twisted will on reality.
The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment.
This was the first time revisiting both “Infinity War” and “Endgame” in quite some time. And both MCU movies are just as exciting and emotional as when I first saw them at the theater.
From beginning to end, “Infinity War” will still keep any MCU fan glued to the screen from beginning to end. The action that we see scattered throughout is still visually incredible and really intense. The movie’s villain, Thanos, is still the best villain to ever appear in any MCU movie.
“Infinity War” also gives us quite a few intense sequences, such as the first moments of the movie where we get to see Thanos in all his brutal glory, the Battle of Wakanda and the extremely climactic showdown between the Avengers and Thanos. The ending of “Infinity War” is still one of the most intense, gut-wrenching endings of a comic book movie ever!

In the 2019 movie “Avengers: Endgame,” after the devastating events of the previous movie, the world and the universe is in ruins due to the efforts of the Mad Titans, Thanos. With the help of remaining allies, the Avengers must assemble once more no matter what consequences may be in store, no matter who they face.
While revisiting “Avengers: Endgame,” I honestly can’t tell which one is better - “Infinity War” or “Endgame.” With how the 2018 movie ended, “Endgame” began not too long after that ending and also features an intense showdown between the remaining Avengers and Thanos, who is also weakened after the events of the previous movie.
“Endgame” is one of the most epic comic book movies ever and its conclusion just knocks it out of the park. The 2019 MCU movie does an amazing job wrapping up the numerous story lines and also did an astounding job celebrating its culmination of the MCU.
The time heist sequence of “Endgame” is still one of the best ways to revisit some pivotal moments of the Infinity Saga as the Avengers are finding the Infinity Stones. And, I honestly don’t think any other MCU film could be the battle sequence of this movie and the emotional ending!
You can currently stream “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame” on Disney Plus or rent them through various PVOD services. And let me know on my Wyoming County Press Examiner reviews page on Facebook what your favorite MCU movie is!
