“A Working Man” A Satisfying, Action-Packed Flick

Last year, Jason Statham and filmmaker David Ayer teamed up in the surprise January action hit “The Beekeeper.” Quick side not: If you haven’t seen that movie, I definitely recommend it!
So, let’s get things going and talk about their latest action-packed collaboration “A Working Man.”
Levon Cade left behind a decorated military career in the black ops to live a simple life working construction.
But when his boss’ daughter, who is like family to him, is taken by human traffickers, his search to bring her home uncovers a world of corruption far greater than he ever could have imagined.
“A Working Man” is another Jason Statham action movie that really delivers on the adrenaline-pumping action and the intensity sequences. This new action flick also gives us a story that can actually leave us a little moved during a few moments.
This movie does bear some similarities to their last movie “The Beekeeper.” It actually does follow a similar formula: someone harms a loved one and the person who’s been out of the military for some time goes back to his roots to take revenge. And despite both movies being sort of similar during parts of the movie, it’s still a great fun, action-packed movie.
The action/fight scenes are really intense, especially towards the conclusion as Statham’s character gets closer to finding the missing girl - which the final action scene is probably the best in the movie. Some of the emotion kicks in when we see the missing girl’s parents are getting worried and in those scenes, you can really feel the emotion and heartbreak.
The missing girl also gets in on the action as she tries to get away from her captors and also has a few moments at the end.
“A Working Man” is one of those movies that will really keep you entertained and keeps you invested throughout the entire movie. With lots of explosive action and some tense drama along the way, I can actually see “A Working Man” being just as successful as “The Beekeeper.”

Trivia: “A Working Man” is based on the first novel of the Levon Cade book series by comic author Chuck Dixon. Stallone originally intended to produce a TV series based on the novels. The project ultimately changed into a film that was up for sale at the 2023 American Film Market.
