'Arthur the King’ an exhilarating, emotional story

In 2016, Mikael Lindnord published a memoir titled ‘Arthur — The Dog Who Crossed the Jungle to Find a Home.’ This book tells the true story of one man and a dog who found each other during an adventure race.

Now, this true story gets the big screen treatment that is a don’t miss.

Over the course of a week and 485 miles, an unbreakable bond is formed between pro adventure racer Michael Light and a scrappy street dog companion later named Arthur.

Based on the incredible true story, ‘Arthur the King’ follows Light, desperate for one last chance to win, as he convinces a sponsor to back him and a team of athletes for the Adventure Racing World Championships in the Dominican Republic.

As the team is pushed to their outer limits of endurance in the race, Arthur redefines what victory, loyalty and friendship truly mean.

‘Arthur the King’ is a feel-good movie that will really leave you feeling inspired and might tug at your heartstrings just a little!

There are quite a few moments during the racing sequences that are truly exciting. One sequence that is both amazingly shot and really exciting is where the team athletes that we follow have to zipline across to continue on with their race. One of the athletes ends up getting stuck in the middle of the zipline and that moment can get highly exhilarating at times.

Before the dog finds his way to Light and his fellow athletes, we see some of the things that the dog has endured and it can be incredibly sad at times. And, once the dog has found the athletes, things begin to sort of look up for Arthur.

‘Arthur the Dog’ tells a wonderful story about both animal loyalty and human determination. In the movie, we get to see the team do everything possible to win (especially for Light since this would be his last competition). And you also get to see how loyal Arthur is with them.

Another scene that really left me feeling moved was during the latter half of the race where the athletes have to travel on a small boat and Arthur had to stay behind due to the little space available on the boat. Despite that, the dog still finds a way to follow them and ends up running alongside the river. This scene truly shows Arthur’s loyalty to them.

Overall, ‘Arthur the King’ is an incredibly inspirational story that will have you rooting for both Arthur and the team right until the very end. Also stay during the start of the end credits where we see pictures of the real Arthur and the real-life Mikael Lindnord (Michael Light’s counterpart) who adopted him after the race.
