It’s hard to believe that the ‘Mission Impossible’ film franchise has been entertaining us with lots of great action for 27 years. This action-packed film franchise is one of those rare series that gets bigger and better with each installment.

Now, it’s time to see Ethan Hunt and his team take on what could be their most dangerous mission yet in ‘Mission Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One.’

In the latest mission, Ethan Hunt and his IMF team embark on their most dangerous mission yet: To track down a terrifying new weapon that threatens all of humanity before it falls into the wrong hands.

With control of the future and the fate of the world at stake, and dark forces from Ethan’s past closing in, a deadly race around the world begins.

Confronted by a mysterious, all-powerful enemy, Ethan is forced to consider that nothing can matter more than his mission — not even the lives of those he cares about most.

‘Dead Reckoning Part One’ does an incredible job delivering amazing action sequences and really ups the ante with the intensity of the action.

If you’re familiar with this series, you know that these movies have huge action-packed moments. This sequel really features some really tense action and can really give any action fan a huge adrenaline rush. The Venice car chase sequence is really fun to watch, yet the motorcycle stunt towards the end really takes the cake. Some of this sequence is used heavily in the trailers.

This sequel’s story is also really intriguing and the weapon that the characters are trying to find is a bit terrifying and almost sounds like something that could actually be created. The weapon involves A.I. (a.k.a. artificial intelligence) which makes it even more interesting since the topic of artificial intelligence is big. Nowadays. Just like the previous entries, all of the non-stop fun is fast-paced and you will (likely) forget about its long running time.

The latest ‘Mission’ brings back many familiar characters and introduces us to some new characters, a couple of them actually steal the show at times. Even though actor Esai Morales does an awesome job as the main villain Gabriel, actress Pom Klementieff (Mantis from Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and 3) is incredible as the assassin who works for Gabriel. Klementieff doesn’t have a lot of dialogue in her scenes which makes her character more cunning and mysterious.

Overall, ‘Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One’ is another great installment of this action-packed franchise. The sequel delivers amazing action, really intense sequences and even a few bits of humor.

The cast: Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt; Hayley Atwell as Grace; Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell; Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn; Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust; Vanessa Kirby as The White Widow; Esai Morales as Gabriel; Pom Klementieff as Paris; Shea Whigham as Briggs; Greg Tarzan Davis as Degas; Cary Elwes as Denlinger and Henry Czerny as Kittridge.

‘Dead Reckoning Part One’ is written by Erik Jendressen and co-written/directed by Christopher McQuarrie (previously worked on 2017s The Mummy, Mission: Impossible: Fallout, Rogue Nation and also co-wrote last year’s little, tiny hit you may have heard of — Top Gun: Maverick).

‘Part Two’ is currently slated for a June 28, 2024 release. Due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, filming on this entry halted. So, there could be a possible chance of a release date delay down the road.

‘Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One’ is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and action, some language and suggestive material and has a running time of 164 minutes.
